About this site

This bibliographic database is based on the research pursued at the International Consortium for Research in the Humanities (IKGF) “Fate, Freedom and Prognostication: Strategies of Coping with the Future in East Asia and Europe” at the University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Research and Education. The IKGF studies the historical foundations of prognostication with their impact on our immediate present and our way of coping with the future in both East Asia and Europe. The database seeks to make this research available to a larger public, while also considering references relating to other geographical areas.
The database provides references for primary and secondary literature related to the research topics pursued at the IKGF which can be retrieved by using the quick search function or by choosing one of the topics on the main page. Search results are displayed in list as well as in column view, allowing for greater accessibility and a variety of user services. In the list view, users can choose between three different citation styles and export individual references as BibTeX files by simply clicking the respective link below each reference. The column view provides only the basic information of each reference to enhance clarity of display. Please note that the shelfmark heading in the columns view refers to the signatures of those books housed in the book collection of the IKGF in Erlangen.
The database is continually updated and we are grateful for any relevant bibliographical information. For questions or suggestions please contact: matthias.schumann@fau.de . The database has been created in cooperation with the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin whose generous support we gratefully acknowledge.
