Studying the Past to Decode the Future: The Jesuits' Criticism of Chinese Prognostications

I am a Research Fellow at the Institute of History and Philology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. My research interest is how evidential studies was used by Jesuits and their converts and how Western learning was appropriated by Chinese readers in seventeenth- and eighteenth-century China. During my stay at the consortium I research on the topic "Studying the Past to Decode the Future: The Jesuits Criticism of Chinese Prognostications".
